Self care and fall leaves

The Northern calendar has turned to fall, colors are changing, it's cool enough for a cost today! Though I haven't painted energy day, I've enjoyed adding several layers, and
Blooming and Codes
some crackle paste to my canvas! I've had it awhile, but hadn't used it yet - needed to add a thicker layer to get crackles!

Have you tried something new recently?

Whether it's fall for thou or spring, October is a good time to attend to self care.

  • Ask yourself, are there a few things you'd like to add to, or subtract from your daily routine
  • Are there some friends you would like to spend more time with, or some you need to ease away from?
  • What creative practices bring you joy, or soothe your soul?

Often playing with image and color well will you answers, so pull out a sketchbook and coloring materials, and feel into these questions! Trust your intuition to give you answers.

Tenderness Moon

Each month/Moon in our Red Madonna Sacred Path Journey, there is an inquiry and process, this month's focus is "Tenderness."

Shiloh invites us to consider, "Where in my life am I seeking tenderness?" And, "where have I experienced tenderness?"

We've spoken of nurturing hands, having our foreheads stroked, holding hands with a
Moon of Divine Connection
mother,a daughter. I remember once, sobbing on my bed after being rejected by my boyfriend, and my often-gruff dad coming in, sitting beside me, saying he wished he could fix it/make it better! Tenderness!

Our Lady moon we explored connecting with the divine presence, and spent timeless time making strokes and patterns of light on our ladies' mantles. We contemplated our own sense of "divinity," articulating beliefs.

In this moon of Tenderness, what tender moments do you remember? Where can you be more tender with yourself?

Here are my ladies, with tender strokes of light and biphotons. I glazed their mantles (Renaissance Reed and Violet), and brought light to the Dragon and Phoenix.

Self Care

What are some of your favorite self-care go-tos?
This week on our Cosmic Cowgirls call, we each shared some of our personal practices and aids. Here are some we came up with:

  • Movement several times a week (Qigong, walking, yoga, Ballet, etc)
  • Art practice, journaling, painting, craft to begin and end the day
  • Grounding, perhaps outside with a tree
  • Drum or play flute
  • Stay hydrated! Water and herb tea
  • Healthy food choices (don't turn to food)
  • Time in circle with friends/family (supportive)
  • Time with animals pets (new kittens!)
  • Art blogs and artist groups on FB
  • Meditation/ quiet time
  • Receive bodywork or do self-Reiki
  • Epson salt bath with a candle, soft music
  • Include self, step in, engage! - not waiting to be "invited!" (Check-in if you need, find a group that's harmonious, avoid isolating ourselves)
  • Slow down, take time for things you enjoy
  • Balance responsibilities and "fun stuff"
  • Saying prayers of your tradition
  • Guided meditation
  • Essential oils, smudge
  • Take action, if something is bothering you!
  • Come from love "let love be the center of your choices!"
  • Become a lifetime learner, study something new

Your turn, what are some of the ways you nurture yourself?
